Keeping up with them

How we went back to the beginning with the Kardashians.

It’s the Comicon of the tinted moisturiser world, where scenes of domestic jeopardy abound and the maniacal pursuit of the perfect selfie is the Holy Grail. From the good to the bad and the downright outrageous, Keeping Up with the Kardashians occupies a cult status in popular culture. This is the story of how we went back to the beginning for the most famous reality show in the world.

The Business Problem

These days, it's hard not to keep up with the Kardashians. They're everywhere. So omnipresent in our newsfeeds that the series that gave them fame had gotten lost in the noise.

The Zag

A family dynamic instead of solo sensationalism.

The Solution

Whereas social media gives fans glimpses into the individual lives of their favourite family members, the show is the only place you can see them all together. This was our USP.

Hit reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, was about to turn 10. To launch the season after a decade of saturating pop culture, we made a film that recreated the original show open from 2007.

Hundreds of hours spent in the back of Rolls Royces, millions of followers gained and innumerable dramas later, we showed that the family dynamic hasn’t changed and neither has the essence of the show.

The Results

Organically featured on Refinery 29, Cosmopolitan, People, Elite Daily, Entertainment Weekly, and more.

Ellen DeGeneres also spoofed the film, adding herself in as ‘Karla,’ the other Kardashian sister.
